Mesa Airport Transportation
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (3400 E Sky Harbor Blvd, Phoenix, AZ 85034) is about 12 miles west of central Mesa via US-60 and I-10 — roughly 20 to 30 minutes without traffic, but the I-10 and US-60 interchange gets congested fast during morning and afternoon peaks. Terminal 3 and Terminal 4 handle the airport's passenger traffic, and the official taxi and shuttle locations place taxi access at Terminal 3's north curb outside Door 7 and Terminal 4's Level 1 north curb outside Door 7. Have your full group collected at baggage claim before you call for the vehicle; commercial vehicles must use airport-authorized access and cannot simply wait unattended at the curb.
Sky Harbor's commercial operators also need airport authorization: the airport requires commercial ground transportation permits and vehicle decals, while a meet-and-greet inside baggage claim requires a Meet and Greet Permit. That means your group should agree on the terminal, door, and whether the transportation provider is meeting you inside before arrival so nobody is searching the wrong curb. The airport's Ground Transportation Office can be reached at (602) 273-3383.
For groups flying into Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (6033 S Sossaman Rd, Mesa, AZ 85212) on the southeast side of the city, access is easier and less congested than Sky Harbor. The airport's official transportation rules require sedans, limos, and shuttle service to be pre-arranged, and pickup vehicles should wait in the Cell Phone Lot until passengers have luggage and are curbside. That makes a pre-arranged Mesa airport sprinter van the practical choice for a group.
